Water analysis

Water analysis is a critical aspect of managing and protecting our natural resources and public health. The quality of water greatly influences agricultural productivity, groundwater sustainability, the safety of drinking water, as well as the overall well-being of our environment.

Sample Submission

Water Sample Collection

Proper sample collection is crucial to ensure accurate and reliable results. Follow these steps:

Sample Bottle Preparation

  • Use clean, acid-washed polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene bottles (typically 125 mL or 250 mL).
  • Rinse bottles 3 times with sample water before collection (unless pre-preserved).

Sample Collection

  • Surface Water / Groundwater: Collect from mid-depth, avoiding sediment or surface film.
  • Tap Water: Let the tap run for 2-3 minutes before collecting.
  • Wastewater / Industrial Effluents: Follow specific regulatory requirements for composite or grab sampling.

Labeling & Documentation

  • Clearly label bottles with sample ID, date, time, location, and collector name.
  • Complete a Chain of Custody (CoC) form for regulatory compliance.

Transport & Storage

  • Store samples at 4°C (in an ice chest) and deliver to the lab within 24-48 hours.
  • If it's not possible to deliver samples within 48 hrs, please contact Lambda for preservation instructions.
